On November 15th registration for events to be part of the the Challengers Calendar 2019/2020 closed. Visma Ski Classics consist of the top tier 12 events Pro Tour and the new Visma Ski Classics Challengers series. The Challengers series has a potential for unlimited number of events to be part the first season the series will consist of 27 events. The minimum distance for a Challengers event is 30km and may be held in classic-, free technique or roller-skiing. To attract Pro Team skiers to the events, the athletes may in the race for the overall champion yellow bib calculate the best Challenger results from each season. Challengers events are also counted in the newly launch SC ranking where over 30.0000 Pro Team and recreational skiers are in the same list The Challengers season is defined to start from the date of The ski Classics final each year and end the weekend before the next coming Ski Classics Final. Events organised on the same day as the Pro Tour final will be counted for the next season. Just before closing the first Challenger season three new events joined: Border Crossing Challenge and Trysil Ski Marathon in Norway and Swedish Bessemerloppet. All together 27 Challengers events are included in the first edition of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers series. Of which 19 are in classic technique, 5 in free technique events and 3 Rolle ski events. A total of 1315km to be skied and roller-skied! The Challenger events bear different cultures and traditions, events in 13 countries are part with 7 races in Norway, 6 in Sweden, 3 in France, 2 in Italy and 1 race in Argentina, Russia, China, USA, Finland, Iceland, Austria, Germany and Estonia, respectively. All events are open for recreational and Pro Team skiers alike, and live results will be available at Visma Ski Classics Live Center.
